Relationships are naturally two-way. We know it is important to discuss openly with our clients the ways in which we are working together, including areas where we can adapt, to ensure that our clients receive the most efficient, cost-effective and professional service that we can offer.
Each client from the outset has a single Client Partner, who is responsible for maintaining an overview of all matters that we are working on for that client. Other partners and lawyers will almost certainly be involved on matters from time to time, but the Client Partner acts as a single point of contact. We will provide our clients with full details of all key contacts, giving them maximum access to the relevant individuals.
Our infrastructure means that we are ideally placed to assist our clients. All our lawyers can access a client's matters, irrespective of wherever they are in the world, and our online extranet system provides immediate access to matters and all applicable documentation, should our clients wish to use this service.
Above all, it is important to ensure that clients receive the level of service they expect. Client Partners carry out regular reviews to address any areas which could be improved, or where clients ask to change to suit their approach to their business

Our open plan offices lend well to this idea, as all of our employees get to work from the same space and close to the Partners and Lawyers who are supervising them. As a modern law firm, we look for strong business acumen in our trainees. This means being able to look beyond the law at the wider context and find solutions to problems that are practical and commercially viable.
Sometimes the path through a problem to its solution is not a straight line. We look for trainees that can use a creative approach to find innovative answers.
It's no good having brilliant ideas if you can't get them across. Our trainees understand that good communication skills are at the heart of any business and know how to communicate effectively both within the firm and outside it.
We want you to succeed and we'll help you do it, but you will need to bring drive and ambition. Some of our former trainees are now our Partners, there are no glass ceilings at Ashfords.
